"Roy". Riza's mind was blank. All she saw was Roy standing in front of her. Their relationship has been strictly professional up until now. incognito and is actually here somewhere', 'someone saw the Fuhrer!', 'Oh my God!. Even though this is the end of Roy and Riza's story, I have plans for a new Word soon got out about Roy and Riza's supposedly secret relationship, but, dwarf in the flask" had obtained God, and had almost killed them all. Meanwile, Roy and Riza are forced to confront their own feelings about each other. And the night seems "Oh for God's sake, Winry, what is-?".

He cupped her face with both hands and leaned his forehead against hers. He always knew what to say to make her happy. Roy slowly leaned in and kissed her softly, as if he was afraid to hurt her or break her.

Riza leaned further into the kiss and wrapped one arm around his neck while the other rested on his chest. When they broke apart for air, they looked at each other's eyes lovingly. He smiled and hugged her. Riza's face was now all red. She knew he was teasing her and she didn't like when it because it was working.

It had only worked because he had caught her in her most vulnerable time. Roy just kissed her again, this time more passionately. Roy's smile widened even more. This time, I won't let you leave my side ever again. Riza had never felt so happy before. Her world had turned around in a few minutes. Just before he had come, she had felt like she was dying inside. She felt like she was living in a dream where all she wished for came true. But that dream was a reality and she was living in it.

They went to a nearby bench and sat down. His arm was around her, holding her closely, while his other hand interlocked with hers. They sat there silently enjoying each other's company. Riza was the first to speak. Your grandfather is the mayor of the town and your last name isn't very well hidden. I had Havoc, Breda, Fuery and Falman ask around yesterday night. I suppose that's true. Ever since you came out of your house. My stalking skills have improved, right?

Why did you wait till now to talk to me? I wanted to know about you and what you were doing. But you looked very disturbed and tired today. I didn't know what to do or say. I didn't know if you were angry at me or how you would react, so I ran away.

I'm sorry, I panicked," she said timidly. Do you know how terrified I was after I lost you? I thought I had lost you again and wouldn't be able to find you.

But my uncle found me and saved me. I lived here with them because I was afraid you wouldn't want me back. It pains me to hear you say that. I always want you by my side. I don't function well without you. Riza looked around and realized it was getting dark. She looked at her watch and saw that it was past nine.

She knew her grandfather would be worried because she had never been out this late at night. I have to go home before my grandfather worries. A few blocks before arriving at the house, Roy's stomach growled loudly.

He scratched behind his head and laughed nervously. Why don't you come in for dinner then. I'm sure there's something we can find to eat," she said. I don't want to impose on your family.

It's so late and-" Roy was saying, but Riza interrupted him. They're going to be more than happy to welcome you and to feed you. I'm sure you have no spare clothes, nowhere to go and no idea where you want to go. So just come on in.

You're going to have to meet them sooner or later. How does she know all that? She's Hawkeye after all, Roy thought. Riza never ceased to amaze him.

He didn't know how she read his mind, but it was always true. He could never win against her. When she opened the door to the house, she saw her grandfather sitting in a chair waiting for her. He got up when she entered and asked, "Riza! Where were you my dear?

Why are you out this late? Have you eaten supper? I'm sorry to have worried you," Riza reassured her grandfather. It was then that her grandfather noticed the tall man behind her. At first, he took his time observing him and judging him. But when he figured out where he had seen him, his eyes slowly widened. My name is Roy Mustang. It's a great pleasure to meet you," Roy offered his hand to Riza's grandfather and with his infamous smirk plastered on his face. It took a few seconds before the older man could react and accept the Fuhrer's hand.

It's a great honor to have you in our house," he said. Riza's grandfather was too busy trying to recover from his shock at meeting the Fuhrer in person that he seemed to forget for an instant the relationship between Roy and his granddaughter. Riza looked at him from the corner of her eyes and saw the smile he had on his face. She knew that smile.

It was the one he'd put on when he would be enjoying himself and she knew he was certainly enjoying himself now, so very much. This was another one of his tricks to tease her.

I'll tell you another time. We haven't eaten yet and I was hoping there would still be some things left for us. Anything is fine," Riza said, hoping she could get out of the situation. I'll tell the cooks to make you two something," her grandfather said. It was late and she knew most of the people had already went to bed.

As her grandfather left them to go tell the cook to prepare something, Riza turned to Roy and glared at him. What do you mean? Now he's going to bug me until he finds out everything about our relationship," Riza said with a disturbed look on her face. Seeing that she looked troubled, Roy asked, "What's wrong with telling him about us? You want to hide our relationship?

I know it was fast but-" "No it's not that. It's just that I've never told him about the military and such. I'm just scared to tell him the truth. I didn't want him to judge me if I had told him I was a soldier who had killed many people. He won't judge you or be angry at you.

I think he would feel sad that you hid your life from him. But he'll be happy to know that you told him the truth. Don't worry about it. Riza led Roy to the dining room. He looked amazed as he walked through the hallways. He had the same look she had on her first day here. They sat down at the end of the table facing each other.

Riza could see her grandfather standing behind the wall, looking at them from a distance. She knew he wanted to give them space, but still wanted to keep a close watch on the newcomer.

She chuckled to herself at the sight. He's a little overprotective sometimes. But he doesn't need to be wary of me, because nothing will ever happen to you as long as I'm here," He said with a playful arrogance. There was a moment of silence where both of them were deep in thoughts. Roy was the one to break the silence. She knew he wasn't going to like it and she didn't really want to talk about it.

Seeing that she was hesitating to speak, Roy said, "You told me your uncle found you and brought you here. How did that happen? Weren't you in the Western War? Roy was getting strait to the point and he wanted answers fast. For many months, he had been depressed with her 'death' and now that he had found her he needed to know everything that he hadn't understood before.

Riza sighed and looked to the side. There was no way she could get out of this one.

You were reported as missing person. I also know that it was I who was supposed to be there, not you. She knew the situation would come to this.

Did you think I would break down if I went? Did you pity me? Did you ever think about how I would feel about you going there in my stead? I didn't want you to get hurt. You had enough trouble with Ishbal and I didn't want you to experience something like that ever again. I was your bodyguard and it was right of me to protect you in that way.

I was scared to lose you. I did it hoping you could have a chance to become Fuhrer. For her, she had done the right thing at that time. She didn't regret anything and she wasn't going to feel sorry now. Roy was looking at her sternly and the air had gotten tense between them. While they were busy glaring at each other, the cook brought them each a plate of hot food and set it before them. They thanked the cook and each started to eat silently.

Halfway through the plate, Roy sighed heavily and put his fork down. Riza paused and waited for him to say something.

Riza Hawkeye/History

I hated myself for being useless. I hated myself for my carelessness. I became the Fuhrer by using the chance you had given me without even knowing about it. I blamed myself for your death. If I hadn't been such a coward, then none of this would have happened. When I became Fuhrer and found out about you, I felt that the world was crashing down. I felt that a part of me had died with you. I wasn't happy anymore. I couldn't work, I couldn't think and I felt like life had been drained from me.

But I had to continue living, because people were depending on me; because I wanted to realize our dream; because I didn't want your death to be in vain. That's how I felt when I found out about you. If you ever leave me like that again, I don't know how I'll survive.

She was staring down at her hand, refusing to look at him in the eye. Her eyes were prickling with tears and she was putting in a lot of effort to keep them at bay. It's just that, to me, you were dead. It was hard on me and I had a lot of frustration bottled up. I'm sorry for that outburst. I didn't mean to hurt you in any way. I didn't mean to cause you such grief. I never thought it would affect you that much. I never told you about my feelings and I was always out with other girls.

So, you wouldn't have known about it. It was the most beautiful smile he had ever seen and it only made him love her more. He was glad the tension between them was gone. He had panicked when he had realized how intense their conversation had ended up. But he had also ended it well and in a sweet way to make things better between them.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood - Envy Vs Roy Mustang & Riza Hawkeye *SPOILER WARNING*

When they had finished dinner, Riza went to go ask her grandfather for permission to let Roy stay the night.

Her grandfather made sure he got the guestroom at the opposite end of the long hallway from Riza's room. Roy pouted and Riza laughed to herself.

Her grandfather had given Roy some spare clothes to sleep in. He stood there making sure they both went into their respective rooms before retreating to his own room. When Riza was sure her grandfather had left, she quietly tiptoed to Roy's door and knocked quietly. She heard feet shuffling and a few seconds later, Roy cracked his door open. One-shot at the moment, may continue with Roy's POV.

It would have been romantic and noble, if Lieutenant Riza Hawkeye had any time for things romantic and noble. She had worked tirelessly behind the scenes for years, all for the advancement of her colonel's career, hoping to see him one day lead the nation.

Riza knew first hand what it was like to live so close to the spotlight, yet never step in it. She had sacrificed everything in pursuit of Roy's career, because she truly believed he could bring about the change necessary in this nation, and simply because she loved him like no other.

Riza was no fool. She kept her feelings buried deep in the recesses of her mind, knowing the danger a romantic relationship with her superior could bring. At that thought, Riza snorted disdainfully at her own reasoning. Part of the reason, but not all of it. She had seen the type of women Roy Mustang chose to associate himself with, and she was most definitely NOT like them.

So every day, she did what she had done the day before that, and the day before that. She worked to help the man she loved, and tried not to listen to the tale of his latest conquest, his latest notch on the bedpost.

During the day, in the presence of others, she was tough-as-nails Lieutenant Hawkeye, best sharpshooter in the army. It was only once night fell and she was in the confines of her home that she allowed herself to become Riza Hawkeye, desperately lonely woman. But Riza, like most, was far from perfect. She was unable to stop the spark that ignited low in her belly when Roy leaned too close and she smelled the heady mix of cologne and ashes emanating from him, or when she spotted him sparring outside, stripped to the waist and sweaty.

While she couldn't stop the fact it burned her up on the inside, she kept her features neutral, a carefully composed mask whenever she was in company. Hiding the effect her superior had on her was something Riza was a seasoned pro at, having done it for so long. He, Roy and Al were huddled outside the door making last-minute plans. Ed took it and trembled. Oh God…" "What kind of man can't even tell his beloved that he wants to be with her forever? Al gave him a sideways look. Winry linked arms with Ed and the couple made their way out of the door first.

Riza watched them go with some concern. I'm going to have a little niece or a nephew? Why didn't Brother tell me? They both have something to announce! Do you remember my favourite firework? He couldn't fully put into words why he was so terrified. He knew it was irrational and he wasn't normally an irrational person. He had been fully prepared for this when he had made his decision a month ago. But he had left it too long, looking for the opportune moment. Now, he was utterly consumed with the fear that Winry would see him taking their relationship too far and end it all.

And if she left him, he knew he'd go insane. They were almost at the top of the hill now. Ed actually thought he remembered playing with Winry in this same spot when they were kids. How things had changed.
